Hen & Chickens Theatre

Camden Fringe

A newly written play derived from real stories and verbal interviews of immigrants in the UK who feel stuck and isolated from the world and their life experiences in a foreign country.

The play features a poetic journey of three spirits discovering themselves in pursuit of the ultimate definition of contemporary living in a romantically dreamy space. This stream-of-consciousness play is created by full East Asian creatives and praised as “A Contemporary Samuel Beckett work”.

There's a Dead Body in My Living Room

There's a Dead Body in my Living Room is a newly written dark comedic murder mystery about Steph trying to figure out who has killed the man in her living room so that she can go back to her normal, happy life as soon as possible. As she starts to investigate, she takes us through her relationship and memories and it becomes more and more obvious that her life isn't as perfect as she wants it to be.

Passing Through Every Part of the Brain

Passing Through Every Part of the Brain is a journey about memories and reflections, self-isolation and self-reconciliation.Throughout the play, ‘Me’ keeps himself in an isolated space with “white” walls; indulging his need for solitude. ‘Me’ finds comfort and protection from darkness, where echoes of his subconscious transform the once empty space into a labyrinth of shadows and voices.

Nocturnal Fantasy

Bodies for Rent Theatre Companie's debut play Nocturnal Fantasy was a devised piece with seven devisers; four actors, two directors and one designer. The theme is the boundaries between spirituality and materiality in people’s daily life. We explored this theme with a variety of theatrical elements, such as space, props, music, and text. Unlike traditional plays, the text wasn't the core element of the show. Instead, we used devising and improvisation skills to integrate these theatrical elements.
